A fresh new green dial style has debuted! The green tone immediately reminds one of the brand color of Audemars Piguet, making it very fresh and appealing!
The new Ref. 15550ST continues to retain the original design from 1972, but incorporates several subtle design tweaks in the case, dial, and strap. The main adjustment is the enlargement of the sloped surfaces at the top and bottom of the case, which enhances the overall proportions! On the other hand, the handcrafted satin finish on the watch has been enhanced, creating a stronger interplay of light and shadow effects with the polished surfaces. The dial retains its unique square pattern, and the 24K gold three-dimensional Audemars Piguet logo at the 12 o'clock position is created using an electroplating method (similar to 3D printing), replacing the previous three-dimensional AP logo and printed Audemars Piguet text.
The 22K exclusive rotor of the movement also features the 50th Anniversary inscription. This rotor showcases the 50th anniversary logo and the Audemars Piguet logo through intricate hollowing techniques, and it too undergoes a combination of satin finish and polished treatment, just like the case! Furthermore, the watch has integrated the case back more closely with the case, making it more comfortable to wear and better fitting to the wrist's curvature. The strap has also been redesigned, with the first four links changing from parallelogram to trapezoidal shapes, and the strap width gradually decreases, enhancing the streamlined aesthetic. All links are also slimmer, making the watch feel lighter when worn!
