piece showcases a pair of ancient Chinese mythical creatures, the Qilin, crafted using traditional gold engraving techniques, symbolizing auspiciousness and happiness. The two hand-carved golden Qilins are positioned on either side of the dial, with artisans employing bas-relief techniques to render the details of the Qilin's fur, expressions, and scales in striking realism. On the left, the male Qilin stands on a brocade ball, symbolizing authority and prosperity; on the right, the female Qilin rests on a gold ingot, representing wealth and good fortune.
